Move to NZ without job offer being 30+ (Auckland)

Hi all, I'm looking at the possibilities how to move to NZ together with my partner.
I'm 31years old, I could apply under the Skilled migrants, but our EOI reaches only Protected content and we don't have a job offer, since we live in Europe and employers are a bit reluctant in hiring somebody overseas as I noticed.
We are both architect with some relevant experience by the way.
The same counts if I want to apply for a work Visa: no job offer, no Visa...
Does anybody know how can we solve this catch 22 situation, without spending to much money?
