NZ driver's license (Auckland)

Hi everyone!
I'm moving to Auckland in a couple of weeks. I understand that the first 12 months in NZ I can drive with my license from my home country, as long as I have an official translation into English. Does anyone know if I can have the translation into English done in my own country, or do I have to have the translation done in NZ when I arrive?
