Want to move to NZ from the US (Auckland)

My family and I are planning to move to NZ, most likely the North Island within the next several months (September). I am an NZ citizen by birth, but have not lived there since I was three and have no family or friends there. We are wanting make connections with people currently living in NZ and find out how they are enjoying living there. We will also be looking for work after we get there, but there are many unknowns so it would be great to get an insider perspective and make friends.
