Driving from Amman to Irbil... (Baghdad)

hello there, i want to ask you guys how can i drive from Amman (Jordan) to Irbil, or Mosul,then to continue my way and to go in turkey...
all what i want to know is:
is Iraq safe to get in? and drive with hours? and another think: if i wanna go direct to mosul or irbil, do i have to enter baghdad or there is another transit way?
