Security, travel and work environment in Basra (Baghdad)

Hi all,

There is a position that requires extensive travel to Basra and I'm wondering if anyone has any insights into life in Basra - particularly security issues. Any tips of how best to move around or when not to- good neighborhoods to stay etc?

Although we've had experience living in the middle east (Bahrain, Saudi Arabia), Iraq is a whole new experience!
