Newbies to Azerbaijan / Baku

Hi there!
My colleague and I are going to be based in Baku for 3 months and shall be arriving within the next week or so.
We are both journalists from the UK who are fortunate enough to be sent around the world doing different reports for a variety of trade industries. We shall be doing a report on the oil and gas industry in Azerbaijan.
We know little about Baku so would really appreciate meeting anyone who would like to take us under their wing and introduce us to Baku.
