Questions about living condiitions in Baku

Hi, I am now working and living in Hanoi Vietnam with my 6 year old son but I am considering a job in Baku. I have done research on the web on living conditions and what I find is mostly negative - very high cost of housing and livning, pollution, being scamed by taxis and others, difficulty between locals and expats, etc. I am not paranoid but I do want a good quality of life for me and my family and Baku seems a tough place to live in. Can you give me your take on this? Are the comments completely off? Do you like living and working there?
