Buying Medication In Bali

Good Evening, Im relatively new to this forum so bare with me. Myself and my family a serious considering moving to Bali for 1 year to start. Myself and my wife are on prescription medication. I under the rules about bring in medication that you should have doctors letter etc. But on our recent visit my wife ran out her medication and we had to buy it which cost us about $65 AUD more expensive then Australia. I would like to know is there anyway cheaper to get medication.
Would we getting referred to Doctor in Bali and getting medication that way? We are considering trips home during our time in Bali but with a family in tow its going to be a very expensive way to do it. So I would like to know anybodies experience or advise on what we should do. Thanks in advance
