Getting started in Bali...

Hey everbody!
My name is Nicole and I am currently in Bali to do for study purposes. I'm doing a master in the Netherlands and being here on the islands to write a consultancy report is part of my studies. From May on I have planned to write my master thesis (plan is to write about the MICE industry, especially incentive travel in Bali) and I still have to get to know people and make some friends in order to get my life here and my thesis started. So basically ... making friends as well :) Iwould really appreciate to get in contact with people as I am getting a bit worried about where to stay, what excatly to write about and what my life on the island will be. Is anyone interested in catching up or does anybody know when there will be an expat meeting in Bali again?
