Is it safe enough for a single woman (Bali)

Planning to go to Bali for a while in January just to chill, do some yoga and meet some new interesting people. My concern is the safety for a single woman. Should I stay in a hotel/flat instead of a villa as it'll be safer or is it something I shouldn't worry about?
