Longer term work visa (Bali)

Is there anyone on the forum who can give advice to a Canadian wanting to stay in Bali longer term (4 months) on a multiple-entry work visa? Since I'm self-employed (and my current contracts are with clients in Canada), I have no Indonesian sponsor, but I've seen other posts which seem to indicate it's possible to get one. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
