Protected content human life is a precious and extremely rare opportunity that we have got to engage in spiritual practice and go beyond the miserable cycles of Samsara. However, for all of us who are born, death is certain and the time of death is most uncertain. It is extremely important to make use of this opportunity of human life before it is too late. At the same time, it is also good to do whatever we can to prolong this opportunity and have a longer and healthier life free from obstacles for spiritual practice. This is the outer significance of long-life practices within Vajrayana Buddhism.
Protected content Rinpoche will be conferring a long-life empowerment according to the treasure cycle called Konchog Chidu. Among the many long-life empowerments available, this one is special in that it confers Guru Rinpoche's (Padmasambhava) most profound blessings for a long life free of obstacles.
Protected content other Vajrayana empowerments, long-life empowerments are usually conferred without asking for a practice commitment from disciples. Thus, it also provides an opportunity for those who are not yet ready to make serious practice commitments to receive blessings from Guru and lineage masters. In addition, those who so wish can engage in follow-up practice. Thus, this empowerment is suitable for all, as far as one is open to receiving blessings from an empowerment ceremony. All are welcome to join.
