Exporting dog from India to US (Bangalore)

Hello!
While here in Bengaluru, a German Shepherd has joined our family. Now that it's time to travel to US, we'd like to export him with us, and need to prepare properly.
We've done research on the US end, but are having trouble finding information on the Indian end, ie if any documentation or anything is required by Indian authorities to take a dog out of the country.
