Tips for first days in Bangalore?

Hello,
I will start my internship in September in Bangalore and will arrive a couple of days earlier. As I know no one there and have no idea about the city, does anyone have some hints and tips? How to get from A to B? What to visit? Recommendable supermarkets? Private tour guides? Hahaha.
