What should I consider when looking for a house? (Bangalore)

Hi all, I'm going to move to Bangalore soon with my husband. We'll need a house for two years. I think I'll start searching in Whitefield, where my office is. What should I consider when looking for a house? For instance, someone suggested me that it should have mosquito nets and water purification system. What is your advice, based on your experience? Also, what about furnished/semi-furnished?
