Alone in Bangkok

Dear fellow members,

I'm living in Tokyo and will travel to Bangkok for the first time for business. I'm spending the weekend of 27/7 and 28/7 in Bangkok alone ( meetings on monday ) at the Dusit Princess Hotel. From what I have been reading, Bangkok is a interesting city and there are tons of things to do.

Would anyone here be able to give me some advise on what I certainly need to see and/or do and - if possible - anyone interested in a beer ? I'm from Belgium and speak Dutch, French, English, German en Italian.
