Discovering Bangkok end of May

Hi there,
I'm Marie, 30yo, I'm French but I have been living in Melbourne, Australia, for 4 years and loving it so far!
I' m going to travel to Thailand for 2 weeks alone as my friend is not able to make it anymore. I'm landing to Bangkok on the 16th of May and will stay there for a couple of days before to head off to Chiang Mai and to go to a couple of islands.
I want to discover as much as possible and so I'm wondering if there are some nice, friendly and interesting ppl living in Bangkok to show me around, and by that I mean a catch up in a touristic area so I can see a bit of the country while meeting new ppl. Will be interesting to meet Aussie expats :)

I will check if there is an Internations meetup at that time too.
