School for improving english? (Bangkok)

I want to improve my english to be able to understand when talking to english native speakers or reading newspapers.
I checked in Wall Street Institute, but is very expensive.
I hope some of you can suggest me other choices?
I live near Rama 3. I need to travel abroad for 12 days every 50 days.
