Any tips on certify a document (Barcelona)

Hello Internations community, Im hoping someone has a few greats tips for me. I need to get a document certified here in Barcelona.
I need to make a copy of my Australian passport, but to do this I need an offical (not sure what that refers to here) person to certify that it is a true copy of the original. My consulate here in BCN suggests mailing these items to the embassy in Madrid... Im really hoping I dont have to do that...
Any one know of any other options?
