Buying Property in Barcelona

Hi all,

I'm an expat American in London and will be moving to Barcelona in the next couple of months. I'm looking to purchase my flat when I get there (first time!). Has anyone gone through the process before as an expat and can share some wisdom around the process.

I think in Spain I need a 40% down payment and was hoping to find an international loan for expats that might lower the down payment.

Also interested to hear about taxes and fees and how the process works in general.
