Canadian moving to Barcelona

Hi there!

My girlfriend and i just returned from Barcelona and loved it so much we have decided to relocate there in September. We understand that we have to each get an NIE card in order to rent a flat, open a bank account, get insurance, etc but also understand that there are lots of hoops to jump through and tons of paperwork to complete.

I am self employed, so to start we will not need work in Barcelona. However, at some point my girlfriend might decide to get a job to help her meet more people and practice her spanish. We will be taking spanish courses once we get there also.

Any, and all, help/assistance/direction would be greatly appreciated. We are very excited about this move, so thanks for helping us out if you do :-)
