Learning Spanish in Barcelona

Hello all,
Im new to Barcelona... been here 3 weeks now!
Im looking to learn Spanish but think the prices of most of the "tourist" language schools rather outrageous.. Protected content 1 week!
Does anyone have any suggestions on other options.. Im not so keen on hiring a personal tutor as I would also like the opportunity to meet new people.
