New in town - Housing and Language schools! (Barcelona)

Hola! In november I will be moving to Barcelona, and I am really looking forward to it! I have 2 questions:

1. What is (in your opinion) the best 'barrio' in BCN (for living)?
2. I am looking for a good, but also 'social', language school. I saw some recommandations here (babylon idiomas, Quijote), but which one is also good for meeting new people?
