Potential place to buy/rent in/around Barcelona

Hi!

Hi All,
We are looking for a potential place to buy or long term rent - either somewhere in a nice place in Barcelona or maybe north or south of the city somewhere by the sea. We like hiking , biking, sea and easy assess to city life. Is there any places you would recommend? I am going to meet my husband who is on short business in Madrid, and we only have two full days to look around like June 16 and 17.
