Relocating perhaps in June - job, apartment advice (Barcelona)

Hi everyone, my partner and our 13 month old toddler are looking to relocate to Barcelona second week of June from Malta. Could you recommend areas to live in. Any general advice would be greatly appreciated especially concerning our toddler ie creches. Would also like to perhaps arrange to meet once we are over there ; )
