where to live in Basel area ? which school ?

Hi all !
the job of my husband will be moving to Basel in July.
the family will have to move most probably this summer.
We think about moving in Basel area, not center to be able to be in a house with garden.
But which city choosing ? any tips ?
We also have to find a school for the kids: 3,5 and 6 years old:
any tips too ?
