anyone here know about Mainz? (Beijing)

I planned to move to Germany next year. Before I was all thinking about Berlin, or other big cities, but now i could get a job offer/internship in mainz. Have no clue about life style in Mainz as i have never been to Europe yet. so wondering if anyone here have been lived in Mainz a while..

any your comments could be of help. and i couldn't read/speak detusch yet, guess it will also be a barrier for me to search the local info..
