I recently met quite a few people at Internations events who are interested in Beijing opera or at curious to try it out, so I asked a Chinese friend to look for good performances during the coming weeks (thanks a lot, Teresa ;-)
There are several places in Beijing to watch traditional operas, but some of them are more aiming at a tourist crowd. Most Chinese would probably go to Chang'An Grand Theater - a modern opera house build in Protected content located in Jianguomen Neidajie, which is featuring nearly daily performances of high quality.
