Bringing a dog to Beijing

Hi All

I know there are threads on here already about there is so much contradictory information. So I am wondering if anyone has ever brought their dog from the UK to Beijing without going through a pet relocation service and how they did it.

Or if you did go through a pet relocation service how much did it cost?

I already know BA does not allow teh dog to go as excess baggage but can't find another direct flight with an airline that does.
