Expat meeting - Confucius temple, then Hutong bar (Beijing)

15.30 – 17:00 Visit the Confucius Temple
17.00 – 17.30 Meet in one of the Beiluogu Xiang (北锣鼓巷) Hutong’s hidden bar’s next to the Confucius temple (the location depends on the number of people who sign up for the event and will be announced).
17.30 – 18:00 Learn about Confucius’ most important teachings
Protected content open end discussion of the learnings, have some drinks, make new friends, find out what Pingo Space is about.

Team Pingo Space is offering you all of the above with our first Pingo LOCAL event. We set out together to visit the Confucius temple. After, we go to one of the Hutong’s bars to hear a short presentation about the teachings of Confucius Protected content Protected content discuss what we can learn from and how to apply the ancient wisdom. We make sure we will choose a relaxed location for you to finish of your weekend, learn and meet new friends.
To us it is fascinating how up to date the Chinese philosopher’s teachings are. Especially as his words have survived 1.500 years and several book burnings, kingdoms, … thus they heavily influenced Chinese culture and society until today. Understanding Confucius can help you understand yourself, others around you and the Chinese society better.

Who are we?
Although we, humans, see countless people every day, we rarely step out of our own world to exist and learn in another’s; it is as if we live in parallel worlds or in Chinese, 平行国 “píng xíng guó”. This phenomenon becomes even more magnified when multiple cultures are involved, for example the current situation in China; locals and foreign expats simultaneously exist but seldom interact. Pingo Space steps into both worlds, providing a bridge for these disparate cultures. That brings us to our name, which originates from our Chinese name, which is 平行国 “píng xíng guó.”
