Food shopping in Beijing

Hey Everyone,
I would really appreciate any tips you have on where is a good place to do regular food shopping.
I have no idea if China has a supermarket type store much like we have in Britain, but somewhere offering a decent range of food and value for money would be a big help.
We're based in the Shunyi district, any tips most welcome.
