Haituo Mountain Hike on 25th May 2013 (Beijing)

Haituo Mountain’s summit is Protected content , one of highest mountain around Beijing. It’s not yet developed for tourism, is worth exploring for just that reason and some great views.

Located on the border of Beijing and Hebei Province.It has three peaks, called First, Second and Third Haituo. The major peak is 2,241 meters high, At First Haituo, there is a meadow that runs about 10 kilometers and is half a kilometer wide. Hikers will be treated to the sight of a meadow full of blossoming flowers near the peak. Several routes lead to the peak, giving visitors plenty of options for seeing the countryside.

Haituo Mountain features high peaks and dense forests. It has a well-preserved pine forest, which is the best ecological place around Beijing.There are several brooks and springs along the mountain, some in the ravine and some at the foot of the mountain.“Flying snow in haituo” are liable to happen at any time from from October to May.
