Health Exam questions (Beijing)

Long story short is this - I convinced another friend to come over to China after I get settled back. My friend has to do the Health Exam before he comes over on the Z Visa too. His doctor is testing him for a whole panel of STD's as part of his blood test. He knows for sure he will come up positive with HSV 1 (as he gets cold sores sometimes). Will this hinder his chances from getting into China?
I'd rather him not get too much into his application process only to know he will be rejected for the Work Permit.
