How to succeed in the Chinese business market (Beijing)

With its rapid development, China is becoming a “magnitude” attracting more and more companies and individuals. For them, China is the land of opportunity where a quick buck can be made and invaluable brownie points for the resume obtained. However, it is not so easy to succeed in this place where the business culture is so different. Many people have had to experience tons of frustration and make a lot of mistakes before they could succeed. Is there a way to avoid some common mistakes that most westerners make and succeed faster in China? The answer is YES! This month, The Thinker Group is honored to have Mr. Sam Goodman share with us his experience in China especially the important lessons he has learned and mistakes to avoid when doing business in China.

Sam Goodman, Canadian serial entrepreneur started his first business at eleven. Moving to China in Protected content , Goodman learned the language, built and sold the ‘World-famous-in China’ chain of cafes, Beijing Sammies; was a Client Partner for the world’s largest executive recruitment firm Korn Ferry and a successful negotiator in English and Chinese on the Westinghouse US-China $5.4 billion, nuclear power plant bid.
He’s given lectures on entrepreneurship, the challenges associated to the China Market, H.R. in China and starting a business in China, to various MBA courses, Fortune Protected content , and international schools (in both English and Chinese).
Goodman has been focused on IT platforms since Protected content is currently working on a contest community called FeiChangHaoKan.
