Bridging Education and Mobility, Inc. (BEAM) was founded in March Protected content the vision that anyone with an idea for a transformational educational project would have the funding and resources to make that idea a reality. We serve as a platform to connect ideas to resources to equip educators in under-resourced classrooms in China. It is incorporated in New York, United States as a not-for-profit organization.

Job Description:

BEAM is a steadily growing start-up nonprofit seeking to dramatically accelerate growth and scale. The COO must be a leader who can deliver measurable, cost-effective results to make our vision a reality. A successful candidate will demonstrate the skills and sensibilities to realize the potential of all our team members. In addition to increasing productivity and efficiency, it is important that the COO embodies the creative spark that drives BEAM’s vision of ending education inequity through connecting ideas to resources.
Key Responsibilities:
 Responsible for defining roadmap and strategies and ensuring company is adhering to vision and mission
 Coordinate budget planning and implement an appropriate system of financial policies, accounting standards, and reporting procedures
 Identify regional collaboration / growth opportunities, and establish relationships with institutional sponsors to design CSR philanthropy programs
 Oversee outreach to educators and establish relationships with educational organizations to increase micro-grant applications received
 Oversee grant application and coordination of organizations and individuals to fundraise on BEAM's behalf
 Responsible for representing organization and overseeing external communication in press, conferences, and interviews

Key Qualifications:

A successful candidate must hold and adhere to the core values of BEAM and be
motivated by our vision and mission, demonstrating boldness to lead a start-up social
enterprise. A qualified candidate will have experience in scaling and expanding
operations and leading a diverse, driven team.
 Bachelors degree required, MPA or MBA degree is a plus
 Overseas experience or education preferred
 At least Protected content of working experience in social enterprise-related field
 Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese
 Good understanding of local Chinese culture and bureaucracy
 Vision and results oriented: Demonstrated track record of exceeding goals and
consistently make good long-term decisions
 Exceptional leadership ability: capacity for managing and leading team; focus on
scaling organization; develop leaders from within organization by communicating
with team at both an individual and group level; building capacity of each team
member through identifying strengths and weaknesses to create opportunities for
 Ability to think and express themselves analytically, decisively; anticipate future
strategic trends and consequences
