Maybe relocating to Beijing

Hey there!

My partner and I are considering relocating to Beijing for his work. We both are bi-nationals from different countries and have lived and worked in different countries on different continents, so we're used to the good, the bad and the ugly which come with moving to and settling in in another country and culture. Nevertheless, China, and in particular Beijing, feels different, and hearing and reading so much about it (the pollution, the harsh weather, the survival-of-the-fittest attitude, the culture shock, etc. etc.) we feel blocked in making a decision.

Any recommendations as to how to approach this decision making?
