Teaching English as a Foreign Language (Beijing)

Hi everyone!

It's my graduation this week, and after spending my first 21 years in the UK, I'm ready for a change of scenery.

I'm moving from my ever-so-cosy life as a nanny/student in Cambridge to the hustle and bustle of Beijing. I haven't yet got a placement as an English teacher, but only because I want to look around and ask advice from you friendly folks first.

So... any tips for a traveller like me? How serious are the 'dangers' for a lone female to be doing something like this, bearing in mind I am not yet a Kung Fu master?
