Just Moved to Beirut

Hi everyone! I just moved to Beirut and am looking for advice on settling in. Does anyone has any advice on the following:

- best ways to furnish a flat? where to get modern, clean furniture? is it worthwhile to custom design, e.g. bookcases and shelving?

- buying a car? big SUV or compact car to dart through traffic? resale value after a few years?

- is there any way to find good internet in Lebanon?

- besides the gemmayze fun, how about cultural opportunities in Beirut? independent film, music, art?
