Moving to Beirut, safety situation

Hi I have just been offered a new job to work in Beirut - currently negotiating with the company on details of posting etc... Could people on this forum please let me know how you feel in Beirut about the current security situation and more generally in Lebanon (post will require some in-country travel). The post is super interesting but I am a little worried about safety.

Also do expats tend to live in xylos or are they more integrated into daily life with fellow Lebanese? Which areas in Beirut would you recommend to live in?
