Christmas Cards from the UK (Belgrade)

I received Christmas Cards sent from the UK for myself and each of my children received their own separate cards from their Grandmother.

Each envelope had been ripped open and then cello-taped closed!!! I can understand them scratching through our boxes we had sent over, but our Christmas cards?? Feeling particularly violated and invasion of privacy.

Does somebody know why they do this? So that we can avoid things being sent in the post in future.
