Do I need a Visa to work in Serbia (Belgrade)

Hello everyone I'm Jason from Chicago. My wife and I are planning to move to Belgrade in the spring. She is a Serbian citizen we will have been married for 4+ years when we arrive. I called the consulate here in Chicago and he said I don't need a work visa for Serbia, that I am eligible for a residency card through my wife and I can work on that. Does anyone know what the process is like and if I will have any problems with employers since I'm obviously American but have the residency card?
