Baby watch in Berlin

Hello!

I will be father in April Protected content .
I was told we need to register kids in Berlin "Kinder Krippe" and "Kindergarten" VERY early. Is it really so?

Also, could you tell me how do you manage - for those parents of you who choose not to stay at home till the kid is Protected content have your kiddy watched when you are back to work?
Did you go for the "Au Pair' solution or did you find a "Krippe" (for very small kids)? Or maybe you created your own Krippe with other parents?

With this last sentence, please note: I consider the option to create a own parental "KinderKripe" in September already if I haven't found other suitable solution.
