How to admit as a foreigner to good public schools (Berlin)

Kindly recommend a good public school for my kid in the district of Mitte or a nearby district in Berlin

we are supposed to move next year to Berlin and I want to start the admission process for my son early enough to ensure reserving a place in a good school.

My son is currently in KG1 in an international German school in Cairo, Egypt so a public school would be a good choice for him not an international private one.

I want to know how to admit as a foreigner to public schools and what are the good schools nearby Mitte district.
