Insurance for freelance (Berlin)

Hi Berlin forum,

is there anybody here who has a good understanding and reliable information on how the insurance for a selbstaengiger works ?

I keep asking around but all I get are impossible amounts; how can you afford to pay Protected content insurance per month or more if you just started your business ?

Any freelancer here who came from an European country and establish themselves as selbstaendiger without having any employed job (and thus insurance coverage thru the job) ?

Any information would be extremely welcome, tks !
