Did you know that the word "school" comes from the Greek word scholè, which literally means "leisure"? In ancient Greece philosophy was a refined luxury, which was reserved for young aristocrats. Allow yourself this luxury today and join the course! Starting with the reading of one of Plato's main dialogues we will discuss some of the core issues of Western philosophy and relate them to contemporary themes in art, politics and science. The course consists out of 10 sessions of two hours and will be conducted in English. The course will take place at the cultural platform Kulturschöpfer, Grünbergerstrasse 13, Friedrichshain.
