Residence, bank and insurance help!!!!!!! (Berlin)

Hey guys,

I have just moved to Berlin from Melbourne Australia.

Two days after arriving I have secured a job. I start work on the 30th of June, but in order to start I need a bank account (German), German Insurance and a tax number.

As part of my work permit condition I needed 12 months travel insurance, does this cover my German insurance?

Also I am yet to find a place of residence, therefore I cannot apply for a bank account, insurance or a tax number. It also seems I cannot apply for an apartment without a German Bank account?

Are there ways around this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
