Bank advice 2 (Birmingham)

Hello,

I will come to Birmingham at the of April and I am currently facing the following problem: I will receive a fellowship, which will be transferred to a German bank account in Euro. Hence I have to transfer it to an UK account and convert it into Pounds. I have heard that SEPA is good for such transactions, however, the final outcome of the transactions will strongly depend on the exchange rate the bank in the UK will use.
Hence my question is if any one knows which bank provides excellent exchange rates for transfers like this.
