Need your opinion about my moving :) (Birmingham)

Hi everybody,

I'm posting this thread because I'm certainly moving to the UK from Geneva in about 1 and a half years with my mother and I would appreciate to get your suggestions.

We are already trying to preselect some parts of the UK where we would see ourselves living according to the fact that I have a horse so the right place should be in the countryside but not far from the town (school / business area).

We're thinking about visiting Brighton, Bristol but I have to say that Birmingham seems appealing and sounds like the first one on our list.

What are the advantages of Birmingham ? Are there many business centers ? Is it easy to get around ? What about the cost of living ?
