Visas (Birmingham)

Hello. I thought I would throw this out here and see if anyone had any helpful information. My husband is a US/UK dual citizen with a valid UK passport. He has accepted a job in Derbyshire, so we relocating to the Birmingham area as his family is there. Has anyone had experience going through the visa application process? I want to make sure I am choosing the correct visa (spouse of a UK citizen). I am wondering if I can work on the visa, and if my husband can be considered my sponsor even though he isn't currently living in the UK.
