Bachillerato por ciclos (Bogotá)

Hi Expats,

Does anyone know anything about Bachillerato por Ciclos or Decreto Protected content ?

I am an english teacher working in a school in Bogota which offers Bachillerato por ciclos. This is state approved programme where students can complete their high school diploma in a very short period of time, 2 years or so, by studying less than one day a week.

Where i work there are students who come to school for half a day on a saturday, do no work whatsoever and at the end it come out with a proper certificate. No teacher is allowed to fail any student that pays the fee.

Isn't that terrible?

I have been searching the internet for other people who condemn this idea but so far i seem to be the only person who has a problem with this. What's more i have found many schools offering the same study scheme.
